Shiraz Ivory is drawn from Shiraz, Fars province, southern Iran. Shiraz is the market city for the Qashqai and Khamseh tribes of Fars, and rugs sold under its name were mostly woven by those tribes on the move — town name, nomad hand.

Stacked diamond medallions running up the length of the rug, with small birds and animals filling the ground. The animals are not decoration: they are a record of the flock the weaver lived with.

This colourway.

Cream, ivory and bone, with the pattern held in only a shade or two of contrast. It lightens a room rather than anchoring it.

How it is made.

Shiraz Ivory is woven from soft chenille polyester with a flat, low pile that vacuums cleanly and does not shed. The base is woven cotton with a non-slip finish worked into it — no latex, no glue and no rubber crumb, which is exactly why it survives a wash cycle when a rubber-backed rug would not.

Where to put it.

We would put it in the living room or the bedroom first. All ten sizes are woven, from 60 × 100 cm up to 200 × 300 cm.

Living with it.

When it needs it, fold it in and wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. It dries flat in a few hours. It is robot-vacuum friendly, safe for children, and fine under pets — the pile is too short and too dense for claws to catch.

Care & washing

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Air dry flat and return to the floor only when fully dry.

Made to be lived with

Soft chenille polyester is woven into a dense, low pile on a cotton backing with a non-slip finish. It is designed for everyday vacuuming and a domestic 30°C wash.

Come caricarlo: Piega il tappeto senza stringerlo, inseriscilo da solo nel cestello e non superare mai la capacità a secco dichiarata. Usa un ciclo delicato a 30 °C con detergente neutro, ridagli forma e asciugalo disteso all’aria. Segui sempre l’etichetta e le istruzioni della lavatrice.

Care, without the guesswork

Wash, dry, back to the room.

Follow the sewn care label and use a drum with enough room for the rug to move freely.

    Vacuum first

    Lift loose grit with low suction and no aggressive beater bar.

  2. 02

    Blot the spill

    Use cool water and a clean cloth. Blot gently—never scrub the fibres.

  3. 03

    Wash at 30°C

    Load loosely, wash alone on a gentle cycle, and use mild liquid detergent.

  4. 04

    Keep it gentle

    No bleach or fabric softener; both can alter colour and reduce grip.

  5. 05

    Air dry flat

    Reshape while damp and let it dry fully before returning it to the floor.

  6. 06

    Match the dry weight

    Fold loosely and use a machine whose stated capacity is at least the rug's dry weight.

Always check the sewn care label and your machine instructions. Wash the rug alone and never exceed the machine's stated dry-load capacity.
