Modulus Navy is a contemporary design, and its starting point is the repeating unit. A modulus is the unit a system is built from. Modular design — one component, endlessly recombined — runs from Roman brick to flat-pack furniture, and works just as well in pattern.

One shape repeated at several scales and rotations. Nothing new is introduced; everything is a transformation of the first unit.

This colourway.

Deep navy gives the design its weight, lifted by mid blues so the field never closes up into a solid dark mass. A second run of charcoal keeps the field from settling into one note.

How it is made.

Modulus Navy is woven from soft chenille polyester with a flat, low pile that vacuums cleanly and does not shed. The base is woven cotton with a non-slip finish worked into it — no latex, no glue and no rubber crumb, which is exactly why it survives a wash cycle when a rubber-backed rug would not.

Where to put it.

It earns its place in the living room and the bedroom above all, and comes in ten sizes — eight rectangles from a 60 × 100 cm mat to a 200 × 300 cm room anchor, plus 160 cm and 200 cm rounds.

Living with it.

Everyday life washes out. Thirty degrees, gentle cycle, dry flat, put it back down. It is robot-vacuum friendly, safe for children, and fine under pets — the pile is too short and too dense for claws to catch.

Care & washing

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Air dry flat and return to the floor only when fully dry.

Come caricarlo: Piega il tappeto senza stringerlo, inseriscilo da solo nel cestello e non superare mai la capacità a secco dichiarata. Usa un ciclo delicato a 30 °C con detergente neutro, ridagli forma e asciugalo disteso all’aria. Segui sempre l’etichetta e le istruzioni della lavatrice.

Care, without the guesswork

Wash, dry, back to the room.

Follow the sewn care label and use a drum with enough room for the rug to move freely.

    Vacuum first

    Lift loose grit with low suction and no aggressive beater bar.

  2. 02

    Blot the spill

    Use cool water and a clean cloth. Blot gently—never scrub the fibres.

  3. 03

    Wash at 30°C

    Load loosely, wash alone on a gentle cycle, and use mild liquid detergent.

  4. 04

    Keep it gentle

    No bleach or fabric softener; both can alter colour and reduce grip.

  5. 05

    Air dry flat

    Reshape while damp and let it dry fully before returning it to the floor.

  6. 06

    Match the dry weight

    Fold loosely and use a machine whose stated capacity is at least the rug's dry weight.

Always check the sewn care label and your machine instructions. Wash the rug alone and never exceed the machine's stated dry-load capacity.
