Kayseri Denim is drawn from Kayseri, central Anatolia. Kayseri sits at an old caravan crossroads under Mount Erciyes and became the great commercial weaving city of central Anatolia, taking Persian court layouts and re-drawing them for the export trade with a lighter, more decorative hand.

How to read the pattern.

Floral medallions on a clear ground, framed by a border of turning vine. The design reads as a formal garden seen in plan — enclosed, symmetrical and cultivated.

This colourway.

Deep navy gives the design its weight, lifted by mid blues so the field never closes up into a solid dark mass. A second run of cool grey keeps the field from settling into one note.

How it is made.

Kayseri Denim is woven from soft chenille polyester with a flat, low pile that vacuums cleanly and does not shed. The base is woven cotton with a non-slip finish worked into it — no latex, no glue and no rubber crumb, which is exactly why it survives a wash cycle when a rubber-backed rug would not.

Where to put it.

We would put it in the living room or the bedroom first. All ten sizes are woven, from 60 × 100 cm up to 200 × 300 cm.

Living with it.

It goes in a domestic washing machine at 30°C — no dry cleaner, no specialist, no hire-in machine. It is robot-vacuum friendly, safe for children, and fine under pets — the pile is too short and too dense for claws to catch.

Care & washing

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. Air dry flat and return to the floor only when fully dry.

Made to be lived with

Soft chenille polyester is woven into a dense, low pile on a cotton backing with a non-slip finish. It is designed for everyday vacuuming and a domestic 30°C wash.

Como colocar na máquina: Dobre o tapete sem apertar, coloque-o sozinho no tambor e nunca exceda a capacidade de carga seca indicada. Use um ciclo delicado a 30 °C com detergente suave, volte a dar-lhe forma e seque-o ao ar, na horizontal. Siga sempre a etiqueta e as instruções da máquina.

Care, without the guesswork

Wash, dry, back to the room.

Follow the sewn care label and use a drum with enough room for the rug to move freely.

    Vacuum first

    Lift loose grit with low suction and no aggressive beater bar.

  2. 02

    Blot the spill

    Use cool water and a clean cloth. Blot gently—never scrub the fibres.

  3. 03

    Wash at 30°C

    Load loosely, wash alone on a gentle cycle, and use mild liquid detergent.

  4. 04

    Keep it gentle

    No bleach or fabric softener; both can alter colour and reduce grip.

  5. 05

    Air dry flat

    Reshape while damp and let it dry fully before returning it to the floor.

  6. 06

    Match the dry weight

    Fold loosely and use a machine whose stated capacity is at least the rug's dry weight.

Always check the sewn care label and your machine instructions. Wash the rug alone and never exceed the machine's stated dry-load capacity.
